Banners, a well known form of advertising online, over the years we saw new technologies and social media advertising emerges but banners are still on the top and one of the best ways of advertising.
Now, it doesn’t matter if you’re trying to sell your own product online or you’re doing affiliate marketing, banners are the way to go.
Media buying is one of the most popular way of making money online, the way it works is simple, you buy banners spots on other popular websites and blogs in order to promote your or someone else’s product in order to make sales.
I’ve been doing this for couple of years now and it’s paying out really good. That’s why in this post I want to tell you about best banner formats that worked for me and made me the most sales.
300×250
My favorite one, I always buy this banner inside the article on the beginning or in the website’s sidebar. It’s the most user friendly and most of the people know when they see this type of banner. If they’re interested in the offer, they will click and buy something which will bring you another sale.
728×90
Now this one is the king of all banners, everyone sees them and they get the highest CTR (click through rate), at least for me. Maybe they’re not as user friendly as 300×250 but they fit perfectly on the top of the sites beside the logo or in the footer of the blog or website.
468×90
This is a smaller version of previous large 728×90, these banners make the most sales if they’re in the middle of the content or at the beginning. They’re quite noticeable but still small enough not to bother or ruin your user experience. Try the mixture of text and image banners when suing this guy.
160×600
Better known as skyscraper.
Big boy for big players, you will need to find the best spot with this one, it will be hard but the CTR are amazing once you find the right audience, like with every banner. But this one worked for me better than 728×90 banner, you usually place this big boy at the end of the sidebar and watch it collect those impressions and clicks.
There you go, I had positive experience with these banner formats, they’re standard and they helped me in my affiliate marketing promotions, but hey you don’t need to reinvent the wheel, just to make it work.
