Have you heard about affiliate marketing? I believe you have, but if you haven’t, then ‘’GOSH’’, now you know. There’s a lot of things to learn in this blog post, and I will give answers to questions you might have and I’ll also help with some tips I believe will help you in your ‘’affiliate marketing journey’’.
WHAT IS AFFILIATE MARKETING?
I don’t like using big words as I’m not a College Professor. Affiliate marketing in a simplified term means promoting other people’s product and earning a commission in return–simple! Affiliate marketing is a very good way to start if you want to make money online.
Basically, what you do as an affiliate is
- You promote other (company’s product) using a special affiliate link given to you by the merchant. This link is to track your sales and CTR ( it’s important because advertisers use it to track leads referred by you.)
- If someone buys the product through your affiliate link, you receive a commission.
Affiliate marketing looks profiting but before you can generate sales, you need to understand some basic principles.
Before you get into business, you must find a good affiliate program and product, and you must have an audience that’s interested in the product.
HOW DO I FIND OR LOOK FOR PEOPLE WHO WILL BE INTERESTED IN MY PRODUCT?
Very simple. But first, before I share more on this, there are things you need to know.
FINDING THE RIGHT AFFILIATE PRODUCT–This is a very vital aspect because if you get it wrong here, you will definitely fail in business. ( I trust you won’t fail!).
To find the right affiliate product you must first use the product yourself before recommending to your audience. This is important because if you promote or offer them junk products, you may hurt your personality and brand ( I bet you don’t want that).
PICK A GOOD AFFILIATE PROGRAM–The easiest way to to generate huge profits through affiliate marketing is finding a good affiliate program. You can do this by searching through the affiliate networks.
Although there are lots of affiliate programs out there, the best ones are: Clickbank, ShareAsale, Moreniche, and Commission Junction.
MEASURE THE COMPETITION LEVEL –you can do a search on Google for the product you’re promoting. Study the competing pages and look at what your competitors are promoting ( you can start promoting those products).
GENERATING SALES AND PROMOTING THE PRODUCT
SOCIAL NETWORK (Facebook and twitter)
Social networks are growing at a fast rate. Social networks like Facebook and Twitter has over 800 and 200 million respectively. You can take advantage of this platform to promote your affiliate product. Frankly speaking, you can generate huge profits through this platform if you know what you’re doing. All you need is a ‘’working method’’.
If you use Facebook, you can create a fan page and grow that page until it has a good amount of members, you can then share your affiliate product in this set of people.
QUICK FIX: create an ad on Facebook. Facebook is a reliable and profitable paid method of advertisement, smart affiliate marketers uses it in generating sales. I know a friend who has been using this platform for 4 years, and he makes over 10,000 dollars monthly .
ARTICLE MARKETING
Article marketing is a free and perhaps the best free method of advertising. Over 1 Billion people go online everyday to look for informations.
You can write and submit quality articles to top Ezine directories like :
Ezinearticle.com
Buzzle.com
Ideamarketer.com
Streetarticles.com
Goarticles.com
The drawback is that you’re only allowed to put your links only in your resource box.
This method can be effective and profitable if you use it well.
Ensure you create a powerful call to action box which urges the reader to click through your link.
VIDEO MARKETING—CREATE QUALITY VIDEOS
Video marketing can help generate tons of sales easily it is done rightly. All you need to do is to create a video (product review) of the product you’re promoting, add your affiliate links and then ‘’BOSH’’ you are ready to make sales.
QUICK FIX: write a catchy title and place your keywords strategically.
