If you are looking to make money online but are worried about being caught out by scams then you are right to be cautious. There are a number of scams that may catch you out for various reasons and it is wise knowing what to do so that you can avoid them.
Firstly you should not pay to be part of a working from home scheme. There is no need to pay out any money as there are plenty of ways to make money without doing so. This means that anyone asking is either a scam or charging when it is not necessary to do so. Therefore there is never a need to do this. They may promise that if you send money they will teach you how to earn money from home and things like this, but actually they are likely to just teach you how to scam other people in a similar sort of way for money or they teach you things that you can find out for free anyway.
There will be some people and websites where you do work and then do not end up being paid. Although this does not cost you money, it will cost you time and it can be really annoying. Therefore it is wise to make sure that this does not happen to you. In order to protect against this there are a few things that you can do. If you are working for an individual, you can ask them to pay you half or all of the money in advance, before you start doing any work. It is also wise to ask them for references or if there are any positive reviews online that you can take a look at. If you are working for a large company that has had a lot of previous people working for them, then you should be able to find a lot more reviews online. Some people have websites or blogs where they write about how to make money online and review various sites and they can be useful to look at. However, if you put in the name of the company into a search engine, you should be able to find out more information about them. Look at more than one site with reviews of them and note how recent the reviews are as things may have changed since reviews were written.
If you are still not entirely confident then it can be wise to just do a small amount of work and then ask to be paid or ask to be paid in advance as suggested earlier, Some companies just do not work this way and will not pay in advance and so it may just be best to leave those alone just in case. You might be prepared to take a risk with some, but read all of their website and the terms and conditions first as well as reviews so that you are totally clear on what is expected and how you get paid.
