Sometimes we reach a point in our lives when the jobs we’ve been performing just start to seem a little boring. It’s at times like this when retraining for a new, more rewarding career could be the best solution to our problems. The thing is; most people don’t have the financial backing to see themselves through university once they reach maturity, and so it can be difficult to work out which employment avenues would be most suitable. Thankfully, I’ve been doing some research lately for a friend who’s found herself if this position, so I’ve got a few ideas you may wish to consider.
My suggestions won’t be suited to everyone, and so you should make you selection based on any previous experience you have, and your own personal interests. The chances are; your old job has become monotonous because you’ve not got any real passion for it. This is why you need to spend some time weighing up all the opportunities available to you before making a final decision and changing your life for the better.
Oh yeah, by the way; every career solution I’m about to mention has the potential to create high earnings for individuals with the right motivation who are willing to put the effort in.
1 – Sales Representative
Sure, most people who work in sales earn a mediocre wage, but those with a real talent for finding new business and attracting new customers tend to rise through the ranks very quickly indeed. You’re not going to become a millionaire from working in a call centre, but if you manage a call center and look after lots of staff members, other companies are likely to become interested in having you on board. Some of the best salespeople spend their lives traveling all over the world meeting with important clients. This is where you’ll earn the big bucks.
2 – Construction Industry Cost Estimator
This role was actually listed as the best paid within the construction industry recently, and it’s easy to see why. People involved in the building trade need to know exact costs at all times to ensure they always provide accurate quotes to anyone employing their services. So, if you’ve got a particular talent for mathematics, and you’re confident enough to give it a go, you could find yourself with a rather impressive salary. Main duties will include working out material costs, hire costs when renting equipment from companies like ASR Access Services, and the amount that will be spent on labor.
3 – Air Traffic Controller
Somewhat surprisingly, air traffic controllers require no formal qualifications in the UK, and although you’ll have to convince employers that you’re suitable for the job, no experience is required either. The average salary for an air traffic controller is somewhere in the region of £80,000 per year, so opting to take this path could make a huge difference to your quality of life. Just be warned; this is a very stressful job, and you’ll be responsible for the lives of thousands of people, so it’s something that needs to be taken very seriously.
