On the first place of the list of the best African cities for doing business is largest Nigerian city Lagos, followed by Abidjan and Casablanca.
Thanks to it’s middle class the African continent is on the rise, and due to its huge economic potential and growing population the continent is changing. Africa is the region with the highest economic growth in the past year, around 6%.
It is estimated that by 2050 every fourth human on the planet will be from Africa. Jovago, a platform for online hotel reservation in Africa has created a list of seven African cities that are best for business.
First place is reserved for the most populated city of Nigeria, Lagos which used to be the capital as well. Lagos is the second most populous city in Africa after Cairo. Nigeria is the largest economy of African continent. Lagos attracts many businessmen from around the world. It is know for high number of business centers and luxurious hotels.
Second place is reserved for Abidjan, the capital of Cote D’Ivoire.
Third place is occupied by capital of Morocco – Casablanca known for its leading economic role in Africa. Huge number of investments realized in central and western Africa have its origins from this city. Morocco is the second African country by the number of investments after South Africa.
Fourth place is of course reserved for the most developed and largest city in South Africa – Johannesburg. Thanks to the progress by the city government in fighting crime and increase in security, Johannesburg is attracting more and more foreign investors.
The capital of Kenya – Nairobi is located on the number five, not only because of its touristic potential, but also because of its changing business climate. Kenya is becoming the economic model of Western Africa.
Sixth place is reserved for the capital of Ethiopia – Adis Abeba, also known as the political capital of Africa. Adis Abeba is the headquaters of the African Union. The city has just built the new railroad which shows the determination of the government to improve climate and infrastructure. The GDP of Ethiopia was $49.9 million, and it is expected to grow 8.5% this year.
On the last, but not the least important position is the largest city of Uganda – Kampala that has more then 2 million inhabitants and it is also known as African Pearl. The discovery of oil in 2006 was a breakthrough for this country and it has lead to return of huge investments into Uganda.
